Giraffe bone question

Has anyone here bought an entire Giraffe bone? I have one and it is not completely white. The inside of one end is yellow in the center and the other end of the bone is completely yellow. Anyone know how to get this ready for use? I don't want to let it dry for the next two or three years, I would kinda like to use it now.

Anyone have experience bleaching or drying this?

Bob . . . Try contacting guys like Rob Brown, Mike Skellern, or Des Horn (you can find their eMail addresses on the Guild website at www.kgsa.co.za). They all use giraffe bone quite often and will be able to answer your questions. I know one of the qualities of giraffe bone is that it is pretty stable, and can easily be coloured into nice honey tones.
