I see this as a handle material on occasion. Why would one use giraffe bone? Is it purely cosmetic? I have no objections to it per se. Just sorta wondering.

As far as bone goes giraffe is one of the toughest there is. Extremely dense and tough.

Oh, and it looks really good too.

The largest male giraffe was over 4,000 pounds, and apparently their bone density is similar that of African buffalo but with thicker walls. Fascinating. I may need but get a knife with a giraffe bone handle. Sometimes I see them dyed gray. Could someone else please post some pics?
Thanks!

How is the handling? Not slippery?
I always thought giraffe bone and mammoth tooth very pretty, but will be too slippery and brittle when accicentally dropped.
But then I never have experience with both.

Thanks, Jaxx. I think I like the more natural look.

Question: Has Busse ever used antler? I think a satin nmsfno or sfno with antler scales or g-rexed antler scales would look pretty nice. Photos?

Got some CS ram's horn that are sweet and still a bit "roughed out"...very natural looking...
