A gun show find..Date coded 4/67 $5.00 and sold by Woodward & Lothrop. Mint in the box! Bought it for my daughter. Too bad they are not allowed to have a folding knife...(Sorry no pic. I can't figure out how add them!!)

I know the Girl Scouts has changed significantly over the years and I've heard that the modern organization is unrecognizably different from yesteryear. Are they really prohibited from carrying a knife?

Last I knew, both the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts were still allowed to carry a knife once they earned the requisite badge.

Marble's Campcraft fixed blade used to be designated their Boy Scout Knife, back in the 1940s (or earlier). We all carried our Official Boy Scout Knives (folders) at summer camp (mumbly peg was popular), in the 1950s-60s. Don't recall any fixed blades back then; none of us had the money. J.C. Penny's was the store that carried Scout uniforms and accessories like scout knives. We also practiced archery at camp and learned to handle firearms (.22s). Not sure what the practice is today.
