I got my girlfriend a crkt ripple for opening boxes at her work and now she keeps stealing my kershaw needs work from my bag. She says she likes it because of the "knobbly grippy handle" and the "flippy spring thing it does" and because its not a "sissy knife" like hers is lol but doesn't like the blade shape. So what I need now is to find her a knife with a good knobbly grip and a nice strong spring assist and a blade shape somewhat like a griptillion.
I'm hoping to come in under 80 bucks but I can spend more if its the right knife.

The best advise I can give is to let her pick the knife that she wants....

maybe the my tighe or mini my tighe from CRKT? its got spring assist, its a little more beefy, got lumpy-ish grippy zytel, not necessarily rubber as the needs work but it comes a little closer to what she might be looking for. oh, also it doesn't have a flipper, that might be an issue.
baby boa by kershaw might be a good one to, but again it doesn't quite have the rubbery texture as the needs work, handles still a bit more on the lumpy side though.
Can't think of anything thats got everything you need, best would be to come as close as possible and maybe modify it if you know how to do that, you'll probably end up only a few degrees off from what you are looking for

my wife is carrying a ram at the moment, before that she was carrying a mini griptilian.
shes far from being a knife nut, heres a review she did :):

^ seconded.

I've bought my gf an Opinel No.5 (?) and an Enlan M08. The Enlan has perfect blade centering, a super-tight and secure lockup,
absolutely zero blade-play in any direction and I've re-beveled it to like 17° per side and taken it to about 600 and leather. It's decently sharp.
Both knives see basically no action and I keep finding them in random drawers.
The moral of the story: let her pick her own, so that she'll have a better chance of actually using it too. Damnit, my gf NEEDS a knife all the time,
but she's always asking to borrow whatever I've got at the moment (usually a Leatherman Squirt), because she can't seem to wanna use her own, even though they're right in the drawer.

taking a girl to buy a knife may or may not work depending on how interested she really is... i tried a long time ago and it was a bad move. it may be too much for her to comprehend why the knife she thinks is cute, rainbow, pink, shiny or looks cool is total garbage. after being shot down a couple time she may say screw it all together like mine did and say "I THOUGHT YOU WERE LETTING ME PICK MY OWN KNIFE!". i may try again now that shes acclimated to the hobby (10years+) but its best to select a few you think would be a good idea and let her pick from the lot.
