I thought this would be a neat little give-a-way here in the traditional forum.
Very few rules except to include pictures of your Diamond Edge knives, stories of your favorite Diamond Edge knife or really anything related to Diamond Edge cutlery. I will let this run no more than a week from today, and randomly pick a winner from the posts that have adhered to the rules;).

Here are a couple of pictures of the pen/pencil pocket clip. Very nice condition other than some patina(rust) on the chromed portion.

The Three Wise Men would like to see your DE knives as well.

I found this Shapleigh Hardware Co. Cracked Ice beauty in a bin of hundreds of junk knives. It has a few dings from people banging knives around on it in the bin but otherwise its perfect. The shield was shinning up at me like a diamond and i instantly knew what it was and brought it home to its new sanctuary.

Great idea for a GA, Ken

Lots of nice old DE and Shapleigh stuff floating around the St. Louis area. There is a least one collectors club I know of dedicated to Shapleigh only. This is NOT an entry into the GAW as I already have a very similar item but thank you for the opportunity.

A few of my mementos:

Similar to yours Ken but a bit different I believe. The hang tag and pencil are original as well but the lettering is pressed into the wood and not inked so I am unable to pick it up with my photographic equipment.

I found this unopened box of pairing knives awhile back.

I own a number of DE knives, great knife lousy picture, but this is probably my favorite. Except maybe the one in my avatar:D

Thanks for the pictures guys! I really like the vintage style of advertising material. Also being able to add the "extras" such as the pen/pencil clip etc. can really bring a knife collection to life.

Ken, Please don't consider this an entry since I won two giveaways but I wanted to thank you for the fun giveaway and share some Shapleigh knives.

Brad, those old cattle knives are great!

Here's a stockman which I think was made for Shapleigh by Schrade. It's one of my favorites.

And here's a Norvell-Shapleigh premium double-end jack that I think uses the sowbelly handle die.

Jake - those two knives belong at the top of any favourites!! That Stockman is a beauty.

Ken, I would love to enter the contest-I love older things like that, and I would like to say that Brad ... you have some real sweethearts there !!

Here are a couple, beauty and the beast I guess you could say..

Here is an old workhorse that I bought locally, made by Imperial...I have very recently bought a double sided fine/extra fine Diamond stone...I took it up to my good mates house-where I gave him this big ol girl ( he has a few of my knives-now his ) and carefully honed away, and then stropped this girl to scary sharp!!...what a well made, lovely knife.
This photo was taken the day it arrived to me...before I put an edge onto the poorly sharpened blades...

An earlier Schrade sporting the DE shield...beautiful wee knife..

Duncan this one looks to be outstanding. How about some opened up shots!

I promise you Brad that I will...I do have some-but they are terrible, so i do need to take some more, I will come by and edit this and show you-as well as pm you that they are there Sir!
The knife is far from Mint...one the Pile side it has a crack in the scale-be it a smaller one-its there-but in saying this( and I have said this before ) I would rather own this, than not-so in saying that...I am very happy with it!!, it has all the goodies....milled liners a real little gem.

Nice knives, Duncan. Is the little one a pen or a whittler... well, I suppose a whittler is a type of pen but you know what I mean...

Here's a pruner. ...btw, I lived in St. Louis for a few years.

I'm having a problem with Photobucket so I attached the catalog photo. Hover over it to enlarge the photo.

Some really nice examples of the DE brand guys!

And that Schrade made stock knife, talk about getting a lot of blade in a slender good looking frame:eek::thumbup:

Jake, the knife has a whole lot going on...now these are old photo's, so PLEASE PLEASE forgive me as they turned out absolutely terrible, and the weather here is shocking, but as promised I will get better photos up of this little beaut, Charlie came in and told me a lot about this knife when I first put it up, that is the ONLY reason as to why I know its a Schrade made knife...any way here are the photos, again I apologise for the poor quality-but it should give you and idea...
the only thing that breaks my heart is the crack on the pile side as you will see,

Duncan that is a fantastic knife. If that crack on the pile side really bothers you that much you have my address:D:D:D Yowsir Bowsir!

Haha Jake..thank you for that Sir,
Brad... my friend...this is why I hang out in Traditionals, because of such generous offers such as the one you have just put forward...thank you for that kind Sir :D

Ken, thanks for introducing me to another maker. I have a lot to learn (and buy).

As I promised Brad, here are some more in focus shots of the small Shapleigh-still far from perfect, but I came home and was running out of light very fast!

Here is a Imperial that is a really nicely made knife!, even though it has the good ol' Delrin Scales...has the etch "Diamond Edge" 383, with Stainless on the bottom of the etch..lovely actioned knife.... the W&T is superb fit and finish is just as great!...I dont think there would be a knife that would have competed with this when it came to bang for your buck?
