After seeing Pollo's little Bark River boot knife in his picture for the "what's your EDC setup look like?" thread, I began to salivate. What a great looking compact little knife that is! Can anyone give me a bit of feedback on it before I click on that "buy now" button? Pros, cons, whatever. If you have a Black Water Boot Knife, I want to know what you think. Also, I went to knivesshipfree.com to check 'em out because I heard Derrick had a good selection and it seems the website is down. Anybody know anything?

Thanks,
Jon

Can't speak for that specific model but Barkies are great knives. Take a look at DLT Trading company before you buy. They have a very large selection and their prices and service are tremendous. My last order from them got to me in 2 days with UPS regular ground!

I have a few Barkies and they are all good. I can't comment on the Boot Knife yet 'cause my special with pinless turquoise handles is in transit.

Barkies are great....Excellent fit and finish, and Mike does an excellent HT on them. The only thing that I've noticed, is that generally speaking, the handles run short. Not on all the models, but just something I've noticed
I have two Bravo-1's, and a Nebula, and no problems...they all fit my big 'ol paw great. I had a beautiful Huntsman, and had to get rid of it because the handle was too small.

Thanks for the input guys!! I just found a basic one with black canvas micarta at a VERY good price, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I'll let you know how it feels once I get to use it for a bit.

Cheers,
Jon:)

Hehe,
That little black water boot knife showed up today, and you guys were right! I am VERY pleased with it, and you can carry that little thing just about anywehere. Belt, neck, front pocket, back pocket. What a great little quality knife. I was even lucky enough to get this one for under $75, with a kydex sheath! Thanks for the input.

Cheers,
Jon:)

A little late to the dance since you already have it, but glad you like it. I have one that is my EDC. I took the clip off of the sheath and just slip it into my front pocket. Yes, it's small... but cuts like a demon and is sheeple friendly too. Bark River makes a bunch of little knives that are all good. The Blackwater boot retired my mikroII canadian because I like the pointy profile a little better for my tasks.

HEY JONNYMAC
IF you are interested in a leather sheath for your blackwater, Derrick at kniveshipfree had some. I ordered one a few weeks ago and with it I now have the option of belt carry or piggybacking the blackwater boot knife on my Bravo-1 or the Fox River sheaths:)

Hey Mike,
I saw those sheaths a couple weeks ago and thought they were great looking, but the last few days, Derrick's website has been down. I get an error message when trying to access it. Do you know anything?
