I use to get critique in the Army all the time:cool:

Please do not get to wrapped around the axle, just enjoy the knives.

I think this will be the last one!

Amboyna wood with red liners

What a long strange grind its been, it takes some time I hope the customer enjoys his new toy

Thanks

Pretty frickin cool
Wood really warms up the piece
how does she balance?

Woah! That's one helluva knife!:thumbup::thumbup:

Only thing that could make that cooler would be some leather. Does not have to be fancy just some leather. Great looking knife

Spencer,
You DO make some VERY cool knives. They all look to be made for serious use!

Thanks,
Peter

Group hug! That is an awesome piece. I'm glad you posted the pic of you holding in, 'cause in that first pic the handle looked about 2 1/2" long. I mighta had to critique yo ass! :);) This knife is just way cool.

F-ing Kumbaya:thumbup:

hey SAR whats holdignthe handles on
did you tap the tang or are they screws into stand off deals
and yes i bet that grind sucked but looks good

Spencer,

I have not held your work, but I have a friend in upstate NY who has a few of your knives and I will make a point of turning my laser beams on your grinds and finish as soon as I get up his way. I will also be interested in feeling the balance and the handles.

A few thoughts based on the photos alone.

1. Eliminate the filework on the spine from the back of the clip and to where your thumb would rest in a saber grip.

2. Reduce the length of the riccasso and eliminate one of the holes.

3. Hide the pins on the handle.

Your blade design is exceptionally beautiful and has excellent flow.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

As a counterpoint...I disagree with every one of these observations, save the last one about it being very nice.

ALL of the elements involved are what makes SAR Knives so unique and sell out almost immediately, holes, ricasso length, exposed fasteners and grooves...it is all an element of what the work has evolved into, and what his customers expect....at least with the Hornet knives.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

If'n you keep making them that big, I'm going to have to buy a bigger computer monitor so's I can see the whole thing at one time. Sweet knife. Fer doin' such a nice job you get two k's with your kkumbaya.
