First of all, thanks to CricketDave for his online tutoring and putting up with all of my questions when I was learning (still am) how to work with leather.





Its high time I throw something back to the community, so this is the first sheath that I am giving away here. It was supposed to have a place to store an arrowhead, but I wasnt satisfied with the way it was looking, so I axed that for this one. Next time maybe...


Anyway, this is for an ESEE-4. Should be tough. I used a little thicker leather than I probably should have. Its all 9-10oz stuff. As you can see, its a right hand drop loop with an Armoralleather style retention strap.

The winner with get the sheath, NOT the knife...(sorry.) The pics are kind of crappy.

So, whats it take to get this thing?



Post a photo of your ESEE-4. Preferably, in use. It doesnt have to be a new photo.



1. Lets try to keep this with contributing members. For this giveaway, that means Basic membership and RAT Pack number.

2. You have to have an ESEE-4....or if you have one ordered, I suppose that would be OK too. Guess you will have to post a photo of something else, wont you?

3. By entering, you promise that you will actually USE the thing.

5. Review it all you want, but remember.....it was free. :D




I will let this run for a while, probably this weekend, possibly longer. Depends on if anyone actually wants it. My wife and I will choose our favorite photo of the bunch and I'll get it out to you shortly thereafter. As you can see, I wont chastise people too much for not being great photographers...so the best quality photo...might not win.

Thanks for the contest! I don't currently own an ESEE 4, but I'll be purchasing one in stainless steel when they become available this summer. The first thing I want to do is upgrade the sheath to black leather. So, I am posting a picture of the handmade custom leather sheath that I do own for my Busse SAR 6. This is the sheath that has sold me on the beauty and functionality of leather and has inspired me to get a leather sheath for my future ESEE 4 as well as other blades.

 
Trip -- looks like you did a nice job on that -- better than my first sheath by a long shot!
personally, I think 9-10 oz shoulder makes for great sheath material.
i look forward to seeing some of your future efforts!

I've seen a few awesome first attempts that make me want to try my hand at leather.

This sheath def does not look like a dud to me. This will be my new sheath for day hikes with the 4 if I happen to win. Thanks for the chance!

I guess maybe I should clarify in that I have made a few holsters and a pocket sheath for an Izula before...but this technically is my first belt knife sheath.


What I meant was that it is my first giveaway sheath. There will be more. :)
 
Rather than have this drop off into 4th page oblivion, I'm going to drop the membership rule down to basic.

Maybe a few other people will throw in the ring this way?
 
I may be wrong but I though that BF implemented a rule that only Gold Memership people my participate in contest. I read this in another post last night and figured I'd mention it.

Doesn't matter either way, I already have the lucky number. ;)
 
I actually ordered my first ESEE the other day! Thanks for the chance at this sheath. Looks great.
 
Well work hasn't started back up yet at plant nursery . So I had to think of something I could use my 4 for,since I don't own a leather sheath and really want one. I was shocked ,after using dollar store kitchen knives how the 4 just pushes right threw chicken haha.

.. this was a boss street but I think it would fit aswell. My gf bought a giant bone for dogs for Christmas . Well the dogs had no intreset and she demanded it was cause of huge knots. She said I needed to find a way to cut it in half and they would eat it . The aftermath

Just upgraded .I know I know couldn't spend the 25 for gold haha. Dam 0551 and other knives I shoulda waited to get till I went back to work got me broke.
