Received my WW2 that I won in the giveaway.
It's not a villager but all the markings but UB are in Nepalese which is cool!
I don't think the thread said who made it but comparing the characters and symbols to my Ganga Ram Villager it appears to be Bura. Also the edge seems to be a Bura looking bevel and edge.
I notice that the other 2 characters on the blade which I was thinking were the symbols for Bir Gorka are different from the Ganga Ram. Does the new shop have a different name??
I'd like to say the workmanship on this one is really good. I haven't tested the blade yet but the fit of the scales, the size of the handle is excellent. I think the ring needs filed down a bit but unlike some khuks the handle is the proper size for me. Also the butt while not Chitlangi like is a bit rounded and more flared than standard, which is also good.
The bolster is non habaki.
I am not sure of the weight, but I would rank this one as a heavy chopper rather than dual purpose because it is heavier and harder to stop than say my 23oz 17" Ganga Ram which I consider dual purpose.
I've owned or handled a couple other chirwa tangs and alway found the fit of the slabs and bolster not that good, and the handle too fat. Not this one. The fit and finish is top notch and the handle slabs are well finished:thumbup:
It was too dark yesterday but when I get some light and some time I'll update this thread with some choppping pics and testing.
Thanks Yangdu for doing this giveaway. I've never owned a WW2 and they seem nice and I had not handled any of the new shop production and if this is typical it is very very good!
