Given an old Yellow Trapper

A few months ago a friend and fellow knife fan gave me a VERY worn old 10 dot Case Trapper as a gift since it was a pattern I do not own and i took it and stuck in in a drawer until this week when I decided to give it some pocket time. I will have to say I am shocked at how comfortable it is for a larger framed knife and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

The blades are ultra worn and are 1970 10 dot blades but I believe either the handles or shield has been replaced at some point as there is no circle around the logo. Also I can't tell if the handles are "regular Delrin" or "flat Delrin", Does anyone know the way to tell the two apart?

Thanks for any info and for reading the thread :)

I can't answer your question but that's a really cool old veteran Trapper! Thanks for sharing.

So far as I know, Case's convention with shields (usually) was to omit the 'circle' around the 'CASE' name on synthetic-handled knives (so it applies to the Delrin as well). The circle around the logo on the shield was normally reserved for premium handle materials, like bone or stag (but there have been occasional exceptions). I wouldn't necessarily assume the handles and/or shield have been replaced on yours; it looks as it should, to me.

Nice knife.
