I did something that made me very happy tonight.
I went to a friend's pizzaria and took a few of the knives I have been working on lately for him to check.
Among thenm there was ahuge chisel ground tanto with a black ray skin handle, wrapped with silk ito and resin soaked, that he just could not but back on the table.
He has been a great friend for the last few years, since the time I practiced kenjutsu, he likes and understands handmade knives and maybe even start making his own blades (it tends to happen when you have two friends knifemakers :) ) and so I gave the knife to him, with no second thought.
He was very happy with the gift and I was very satisfied with his happiness.
I really think that being able to create with our hands things that please people so much is one of the best parts of being a knifemaker.
I asked him to take some pictures and should show you the tanto tomorrow.

Ivan that is cool, and I sure understand the impulse. You are a good friend - ole buddy, ole pal, my own best friend! :D Seriously, that sounds like quite a knife, I'm looking forward to seeing it. And the others!
