My little brother has been carrying around a Colonial hobo knife, with the point rounded off, and has been very careful with it. I think he needs a better knife, and have decided that, while I'd like to make my money back on it, a Victorinox Recruit I had had up for sale will be his birthday present. This knife is razor sharp, and has some basic tools. I would just like his first real knife to be a SAK. He's going to be 11 this fall, anybody have any luck with their kids liking these?

The Vic Recruit is what I have given to my nephews of about that age and think it was a good choice, well made, not too big, not too small, useful tools, sheeple friendly, not expensive, easy to care for.
