Giving a second life to a leather pocket sheath - Help needed

So, 2 years ago, I bought a Ringed Razel from Jon Graham. I love that knife, and seriously, I'd carry it a whole bunch more than I currently do. When I bought it from Jon, I also bought 2 sheaths for it, a kydex and a leather pocket sheath. Two years after, I can say with certitude that even tho the kydex option is a fun one, that option doesn't see much pocket or belt carrying time, being a city dweller in a rather sheeplish population. Which bring us to this thread: the leather pocket sheath.

First, here's the culprit:

When I got it with the knife, my first impression was a tad underwhelming, and then I realized that Jon is a great knifemaker, but a rather ordinary sheatmaker (sorry Mr Graham, I had to say it). And of course, 6 months later, the clip was overextended, making the sheath a little more than useless.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, where I saw an awesome pocket sheath made by mister Rick Lowe with a MANLY MAN clip the size of my forearm (slightly exagerating here), which made me think:
1- Although I have the manual abilities of an elephant with boxing gloves.
2- Although I don't have a single piece of gear to make working with leather easier.
3- Although I don't have the slightest clue as to where I could get such a clip nor the most basic idea of how to change it

I figured I'd give a go at giving the sheath a second life.

The current clip is free under the leather, so I guess removing it completely wouldn't be such a feat. The question is: how to do it without disforming the leather as the backing is quite rigid.
Second question: where can I find that MANLY MAN clip? Can I buy it online?
And third: Oh thou, Masters of Leathers, can you please give me some advices on how to do it properly?

Lastly, the leather has began to have some give, making the knife a tad less secure. Is there a way I could "re-mold" it or is it a bad idea?

If all goes south, I guess I'll have to order a brand new one, but funds are scarce atm, and it looks like a good challenge.

Some more picture to give you the idea:

Disclaimer: I'm pretty sure Mr Graham wouldn't mind mending it. He has been a charm to deal with on all account, each time. But the fact that I live at the North of your border makes all shipping a rather tedious and costly task.

The correct fix would involve disassembling the sheath, repair, then restitch. Larger clips are sold by many outlets, with Tandy/Leather Factory being probably to most recognizable. I believe they even have outlets in Canada if that's what North of the border means. Stock number is 1240-00, and that is a nickel holster clip. They are not very expensive, but logistics to and fro will be the major pain in the ass. Good Luck.

Paul

PS. There comes a time when we all have to say good bye to an old friend. This may be true of you and your faithful sheath;)

The clip you saw on my work is a powder coated spring steel clip that is available from Tandy. Not very expensive and easy to install. I really agree with Paul, it's probably time to put that one to rest. As he says, it would require total destruct and rebuild. Even with shipping from the north of the border being a pain, a new sheath would be the best answer. I've shipped a lot to Canada and never had a problem. Using Priority Mail Int. was not overly costly. Good luck!

I'm that "||" far to change that project from mending my old sheath to finding someone to make it for me...

Mr Long, Mr Lowe, how're your respective waiting lists lately?

Thanks, gentlemen, for your enlightening advices.

Math

You certainly can't go wrong with a sheath from Paul regardless of wait time. I'm a little less than a week out right now.
