Giving away this knife, details to follow.

Wow, it worked!

A few days ago I saw a post from a member who was assisting some scouts overseas and I was inspired.

I have a few knives, about 8, and wanted to share with someone who needs a solid, quality knife.

This Spyderco Endura II is used but in great shape. I have a rotation of knives I use as EDC's and this has been in a drawer for awhile.

Post here if you need a good, solid knife, and let me know why you need it. I will read these posts and choose one.

I am not in a position to check up on people who post but I ask everyone to check themselves and let someone who needs the knife get it.

My friends and co-workers don't seem to appreciate a good knife. I know someone here will.

Be safe all,
Mike

I do not need a knife but thise is very nice of you. I would liek to thank you for what you're doing.

I am a NEWBIE. I try not to post often, but I lurk and read EVERY post to learn, learn, learn. I am just starting out and have maybe 20 knives that hold any collecting value. I still do not have an EDC. My collection will grow over the next thirty years with knives that will be never used but kept as art to pass on to my two sons as something that comes straight from my heart. I collected guns. BFD. I was given a knife, I touched it and well I am an addict. Do I "need" this knife? Well YEAH, then I would have a carry knife. Does it matter? NO, anyone who gets it I hope will use it. I am just still too new at this to touch any of my very very modest collection because I want to leave a legacy for my boys to let them REALLY know what and who their Dad was all about. So if you want to send me an EDC, I will have an every day carry knife, if not at some point in my life I will have an EDC because I will finally have at least TWO REAL knives for each one of my son's, until then if I need to cut something I am F-ed......You guys on the BF are wonderful human beings........wolf

I am NOT entering the contest, I just wanted to say that it's awesome when someone does this and this is why BF rules. I am currently awaiting my Sean Perkins Littlewing that I won in an earlier contest, and I also got to name the tachyon, so I guess I've had an uncommon run of luck, but good luck to everyone, and enjoy the contest. I might have to do something like this at some point, when I have money :) to give back to the forum that has been so generous to me...

my reason that I need that knife is because I currently only own a shcrade knife that isn't very good quality any more since I let my friend borrow it(he scratched it up pretty good) I guess I also own a USMC Ka-Bar but that can't really be my EDC seeing that it has a 7 inch blade:D

I don't need another knife. I want one, but someone else out there needs this Spyderco. This is very cool of you to do this. THANKS!!!

Is this knife better than the one that looks like it that I carry every day, the one made by Fury? Seems like the blade is the same, except of the hole in it. What's that for? The handle is made out of black plastic rather than the shiny plastic or whatever in the picture. Is yours sharp? Mine must be designed with safety in mind, 'cause no matter what I do, it wont take an edge, so it must be safe, wont cause any accidental cuts.

um... i hope you're joking, markcid... sounds like you may have come across one of those dreaded (but nonexistent) hibben/frost collab's. ;)

magilla, i'd certainly love to win your blade. but i think there are people who need it/would get more use from it than i would. just wanted to let you know that the generosity of your action doesn't go unnoticed.
peace.

Hey all, I forgot to post when this thing will end. I want to wait until tomorrow night 6PM my time and then print and cut out the names of the people who need the knife and have my wife pick one out of a hat. I will post who gets it by 6:30PM my time in this post.

I think that is fair. I can then ship the knife out first thing next week.

Also, Thanks for the nice posts and messages. This is no big deal, I am just trying to share some of my good fortune, which thank God I have tons of, with someone else.

Adios,
Mike

Sorry I am late.

Many people looked at this post and only two said needed of a knife. Amazing!!

After putting two names in the hat my wife pulled out Jefroman's name.
Jefroman, I hope you enjoy the knife and use it with care.

Email or post your shipping information and I will get the knife out as soon as I can this week. Probably tomorrow.

I want to say, I have been around the forums for a few years and check in at least once a day. As you can see I don't post much, but I have learned a heck of alot about knives and people here.

I gladly paid the gold membership and actually was waiting for it to come. I was hoping it would happen before Spark closed the place down for lack of funds. As I knew they would, the true members, not just the knife sellers, have come through and done their part to keep the place going.

I don't know how many people have left because of the recent changes, most of which I agree with, but from the way this knive giveaway turned out I am glad the people who stayed are genuine, honorable, and stand-up.

I am proud to be among this group and hope to stick around awhile.

Again, be safe all and thanks.

Mike

Mike,

That was so excellent of you to give that knife away. I was going to post one of my normal wise-ass posts about how I could use that knife, but this time I had sense-enough to not do that.;).

I hope that the person who is getting that knife of yours REALLY does need it, and if so, that it is used in good health, with very few accidental cuts.:).
