Giving knives as Christmas presents

Yesterday, for various pragmatic reasons not that interesting to this discussion, my side of the family gathered for an early Christmas present exchange. As for my gift giving, it was very knife-centered. I gave some other stuff too, but everybody except my small children and grandma got a knife.

Dad - Spyderco Persistence
Uncle - Spyderco Dragonfly2
Male cousin - Spyderco UKPK Maroon Leafblade

Mom - Victorinox Classic (Pink)
Aunt - Victorinox Classic (Edelweiss)
Cousin's wife - Victorinox Classic (Purple)

What a hit. The ladies, in particular, love their Vic Classics with the feminine colors. My Dad seemed sort of uninterested in his Persistence, but my uncle and cousin were quite excited by their Spydercos. None of these folks are knife people, particularly, but I figure everybody needs an extra knife of some sort and hopefully they'll recall me fondly sometimes when they carry it.

I give knives to the males too. Why not? Do what you are good at.
