Giving the CABS a little workout, food prep pics added

:Had a little free time this evening and decided to put my CABS through a bit of a workout. To be honest, when I first received it, I kinda thought that the edge was too fine to any hard work, but I was wrong.

I did a bit of batoning of some oak and hickory that I had around, nothing huge, but it seemed appropriate for a blade this size.(couldn't find my camera, had to use my cell)

This blade really impressed me making shavings, I barely applied any pressure and it just sailed through the wood.

After that, I wiped the blade down and tested it on some paper and a tiny apple

Still very sharp.

After a couple of passes on the strop(plain leather), it was shaving hair again

The rounded spine is SUPER comfy to rest your thumb against while pushing down
The black paper slabs did feel a little slick at first, but dried quickly
Dinner prep pics and review, I am flat out blown away at how well the CABS worked in the kitchen, I mean, I had high expectations, but man o man, the combo of thin blade, profile and handle comfort are just amazing

Lol, that's outside on my pool deck, my girlfriend might just kill me if I was batoning and shaving wood inside, she already puts up with knives ,leather scraps and little slivers of paper

I have thrown out a blanket and whittled a Pick handle down to fit my axe socket in the house more than once!

I also make leather sheaths in the house, and the wife is always trying to make me go out into the garage.


I like my CABS so far! Mostly just done kitchen duty slicing fruit and cutting chicken up.
 
Just finished prep and dinner, this knife really is a HOME RUN, if you haven't gotten one yet, WHATS WRONG WITH YOU, DO IT!!!!:D:D:thumbup::thumbup:
