Anybody have any experience with this company's kukris??

They have some really nice looking stuff that looks to be made traditionally. I'm thinking of getting a few from them since they're continental.

Shipping at all the other places is $35- $40!

Let me know!

Thanks!

I bought one right before the huge earthquake years ago and it's presented with pride and a good value.
There were a bunch of inserts about the history, that these are not tourist quality items, and what various government agencies use what specific models.
The sheaths are traditional wood ones which I don't care for,but leather would rust them quickly.
They need to be thoroughly cleaned, oiled, and probably either touched up or reground for what most of us Stateside would expect to do.
That's not to say that there's anything wrong with them, just that the vegetation is probably different and if you plan on using it to clear brush you might need to change it a bit.

The 2 blades that come with them are interesting. 1 is not meant to be sharpened- it's for making sparks or for use as a general tool (light prying, screwdriver, etc.) The other one I think is for field dressing, gutting fish, food prep, etc. and definitely needs to be pretty much totally reground and sharpened. I'm not sure that it's worth it because they can be a variety of steels... that aren't top of the line supersteels.

But overall, it's a great value and there are lots of options to choose from. Go for it!
