Here is a very cool BIG bowie by a guy that does that style very well indeed.

No, it's not mine - with all of my recent steel I was unable to jump on it - but this one would be right at home at my place.

Adam's description:

A while back I made a knife that I called the Ice Bear. It was based on my "ursa major" design, but made of twist damascus, and had (for me) some fancy fittings and filework, and also some great ivory. It was such a fun project, that I wanted to do it again. Here it is:

The blade is 10-bar Turkish twist of 1080 and 15n20.
The handle is of course, ancient walrus ivory with some fantastic growth rings.
The fittings are blued twist damascus, and a stainless fileworked spacer.

OAL: 16-3'4"

I think this is my new favourite DesRosiers bowie - great job Adam.

that knife has A LOT going for it.

Beauty and the beast all in one. Man that looks like a brute but so clean and elegant too.
Beautiful guard and that handle looks so comfortable.

Fantastic knife, just great all around. Thanks for posting this one up. Adam is definitely climbing on to my list of must have maker's. He is work is quite impressive.
