I've made it a point to get a chiruwa ang khola for each of my sons--figuring that such a tough blade would be good equipment for facing the tough wood of our Southwestern desert--and, more generally, whatever life may throw at them. (For my daughter--tiny but strong-willed--I have a very nice, thin-handled but tough Chitlangi. She loves it, and it'll fit her hand much better.)
I ended up swapping out a tin chirra for a chiruwa ang khola with Yangdu a while ago--and, lo and behold, it turns out that my family tradition of that variety of khukuri for each of my boys is going to make me especially glad for that trade: this morning, the ultrasound technician informed my wife and me that our new baby, due in a couple of months, is our fourth boy!
