Hey Hogs !

I can't find the Busse Gladius on their website.
What were the Gladius's selling for at BLADE ?

Wade

I don't recall exactly, but I think it was ~600 for a CG and ~1000 for a Satin one.

Read through the threads from the event, it came up a lot at the time and was answered.

They were $720 during the Gaanza that I missed out on. I am not going to pay the $1000 they are going for now.

They are certainly going for less than that... seen several in the 700's and low 800's on the market.

There was a Show Special price to reward those who made the trip to Blade. the 'Ganza price was higher. All members can search here.

It isn't on the website because it is not a current offering which makes it a very limited quantity item and therefore subject to supply and demand. I'm not sure how to explain this gently. The unfortunate fact is it doesn't much matter what they went for if you don't already have one. Buying one now is going to cost more now. $850 or less for a CG is a good deal right about now and they are worth every penny.

Call me crazy, but if you are serious about getting one then searching the exchange for "gladius" might help you score a better deal just a bit quicker than the next guy instead of talking about it over here since they will only continue to go up. ;)

Hope this helps and good luck! :) Post pics when you get one!

Just to reconfirm, during the Ganza the CG's were $719 + shipping. I don't remember about the satins, I want to say $1,800 ish.

At 719 it was a steal. I wish my budget had stretched to more than one, or that I'd been at Blade to snag a satin-finished one.

If price is a concern for someone who genuinely wants a Gladius, I would suggest one wait for future offerings direct from Busse, either via Ganzas or perhaps eventually through the company store. One or the other is virtually assured. You can also go the proxy route if they will be offered at future shows. The AK-47 has been unavailable for a long time now and it is still making appearances at shows.

They were $597 at blade. Why not just keep them at $597 so everyone can enjoy having one?:(

Actually, they (the CG Gladius) were about $633 after the tax is added, and if you had to have them shipped home, there's another bit of change to add to that show price. Can't really put 'em in your checked baggage...unless you got a BIG bag and you travel light! :D

Personally, I really & truly appreciate the Bossman cutting those of us who travelled to the show some good deals, because it ain't exactly cheap to attend the BLADE show. ;)

+1

Just wait for the next few ganzaas (if there will ever be any more). You'll have the chance to snag them for hundreds less.

The funny thing is the hundreds of satin Gladius that were sold at Blade could be sold for $1500 and the guys would still make $500 profit now the people that bought them at the Ganza would take a loss of $500.

So the satin Gladius will always be great deal for lots of resellers and a scag for a few collector buyers :)

Timeing is an important aspect of supply and demand. All of us have bought knives at shows and ganzaas at released prices. We have also bought at exchange prices and paid the going rate and even more if it's a knife we "need".

As with any collectible, the market price is whatever someone is willing to pay. You can wait for the next show or 'ganza, but there's no guarantee that the Busse Gladius will ever be available from Busse Combat again.

Not sure but after seeing and holding AZTims at a show I was really wanting one. Sad thing is the Bowie is right up there in price with the Gladius and I want the Gladius and a 47 to add to my group of blades. Practical, probably not, but bad ass they are!

Lets see how well the dead horse sells in EE. It`ll be awsome when all the dudes who bought them at Blade for $997, need cash and start to sell them at $1500 for quick sales :D

Hell thats still a awsome profit of $500 bucks instantly.
