Getting a Gladius, what are your thoughts on this bad boy. Got any cool pics or stories?

I was very fortunate to have Trevor proxy for me, and pick me one up at the show they were released at. Definitely a Beast, and the epitomy of bad-a$$....
 
I don't have video capability, but there might be a pic or two of one in my review over here.

I had a NMFBM and I found it unweildly (very heavy with bad balance). Anyone here have both - if so how does the Gladius feel in hand compared to the NMFBM!

The BWM is amazing in hand and it's gotta to make space for the Gladius. Am I going to regret this (I know true hogs don't have regrets)

There is really no comparison. I kept the Gladius and got rid of the NMFBM since the show version NMFBM with G10 mags on it weighed only 5 oz less than the Gladius and wasn't nearly as fun. Also, like you said the balance is off which wears you out quicker than the much better balanced Gladius. You can see how well the Gladius chopped through 8 inches of hard wood later on in the review I linked to earlier as well as how long it took me and I was way less tired with it than going 1/3 of the way through with the NMFBM. IMHO, the only thing that is even close to the Gladius for the fun factor are the AK, Ruck and probably the MOAB which I think is the heaviest of all INFI chunks at around 4 lbs.

.30 Gladius weight is 40oz on the nose sans coating.

Klean Strip gel followed by scotchbrite discs on a bench grinder to remove decarb. That's all.

Mine is one of the first ones from Blade 2010, but you can find them on the exchange randomly. The ones in the recent ganza were a screaming deal though so I would bet a few of those will be available on the X soon. Patience and persistence pay off in these kind of endeavors. ;)
 
Liu Kang did me a nice trade deal for this NMFBM, and Knife Hunter did me a favor and trade on the Gladius.

i have both and i think the gladius feels much better balanced. everyone who holds the gladius falls in love with it. there was a great deal on one in the recent ganza.
 
I'm sure I'd love it if I ever got one, but I just can't see what I wouild ever use it for besides to look at. :foot:
