glass bead finish question

For those of you that have done a glass bead finish. What stage of finish do you take the blade to with sandpaper before the blade goes in the glass bead cabinet? 400, 600,1,000grit, or higher?

400 is my minimum before blasting. With very fine bead 600 is better.

I go to 600 proper and a light rubdown with 1000. Then into the blaster.
