Does Spyderco make any knives with a glass breaker tip on the end? If not I think a Para 3 maybe in order? I am no bladeologist but I don’t think it would be too hard to add a carbon tip kinda like the Benchmade AFO 2. With the smaller size and great lock on the Para 2 that would be good for me.
 
there is a guy on the USN forum that was putting aftermarket ones on spydies. if you need his info let me know.

I just don't get the glass breakers. How weak are people to not be able to break glass with ANY hard object? I've punched auto glass and didn't even hurt my hand.

Go on YouTube and watch about a half dozen videos where guys can't break a car window while swinging a hammer at them. Punching through a car window isn't exactly the smartest thing either. A little blood is nothing, but you're talking about the possibility of slashing through tendons, muscle, veins, and arteries. Possible loss of hand and/or arm use when tearing through tendon and muscle. Possible loss of life when tearing through veins and arteries.

There is proper technique to breaking a car window. When someone is on the inside of the car, it probably isn't the best ideas to hurl an eight pound rock through the window at them. You don't want to swing a tire iron or crowbar throught the window at them either. It is a good idea to use a carbide tipped glassbreaker at the corner of the window for a clean break. If you're not a rescue worker and you don't have the proper tool then you may have to swing something at the window, but since you're probably breaking that window to retrieve somone from a burning car, injury should be risked.

Spyderco is coming out with a black bladed assist. It's totally awesome looking. I might get one for my car!
 
Some FYI about glass breakers that I read somewhere on BF. I think is was

on the CRK forum about using the glass breaker on the Umnunzaan.....always

try to break the glass in one of the upper Corners....this is info about breaking

the window of a car Not a regular window.

I'd love if you could go to a scrap/junk yard and show us your technique on breaking car windows with your bare hands. It would literally be unbelievable. Please and thanks.

If you can't make it to a scrap/junk yard, try it on your own car, I'm sure it won't be damaged anyhow.

Go back to playing Grand Theft Auto on your Xbox because we know how easy it is to break glass on there.
