Thank you in advance for taking an interest
& my apologies if this is posted in the incorrect section.

Recently I bought a standard BM 810 Contego but didn't like the scales so I bought the Knifeworks 810-1401 which has more comfortable scales but no glass breaker.

I've checked through this website, etsy, ebay, multiple other websites who sell scales etc.
Zero success.

Also rang Benchmade, they said they don't sell "internal parts".

Does anyone know where I can buy a carbide glass breaker backspacer?
not soliciting for work to be carried out.

do you still have both of the knives? if so, you could swap either the backspacer or the scales to get the combination you would like and then sell the remaining franken-knife to recoup some of the cost

lol.
no, it's been sold.
and the part would have to be sanded / sand blasted?
from black to stainless steel.

ah, ok. the only other thing i can think of is for you to check the customized benchmade thread and maybe see what is there. i know if several members that do custom backspaces (keyman and possibly doat come to mind), but i’m not sure if they can do one with a glass breaker

I own an 810-1401, but its been 40 years since I got paid to fight fires; you have a stainless steel insert, so find a tungsten carbide screw in piece and have a local machine shop tap yours to fit. Easy peasy. Or, understand that adrenaline works, and gloves are your friend if you become a first, ad hoc, responder. Or as mrfields says, by an m4, swap parts, sell whats left... micro tech offers parts:

BTW, love my 810-1401, but more so with the m4 OEM scales on it to increase traction. Snagged the OEM scales from custom scale maker's left over inventory.

Thanks for the tip, I've looked at some of their work, will go through it more extensively, even Rogue do a CF set but with CF backspacer, looks awesome, but not what I want.

that's a good idea scott, i never would've found that page. thanks!
found the M4 scales too rough and the 810-1401 scales too smooth. doh

These options sit too high and would no doubt break off if impacted on a window.
Thanks all the same.
