Glass Fiber on Gayle Bradley Air?

I was thinking of getting a Gayle Bradley Air. I like the looks of the handle scales and was wondering if the scales were truely glass fiber all the way through or just a laminate onto g10, like the carbon fiber on the sage 1. The fact that the knife is made in Taiwan is why I wonder about this since the Sage series is also from there. Let me say that this would not be a deal breaker since I do like the looks of the knife and I have always been happy with all my Spyderco's from Taiwan. My Sage 1 is one of my favorite knives. I just want to know what I am buying. Was wondering if anyone had the same question about the G.B. Air and thanks for any input.:)

I can't help you with what your asking, but I would just like to say that I am amazed with how comfortable it is for such a small handle and I have large hands

It's called Silver Twill G10. As far as what you are buying is probably one of the finest small knives ever made.

Thanks, I'm getting the knife. The descriptions on the on-line shops all say silver twill glass fiber. whether it's g10 or something else really isn't a big issue with me. I just like to be well informed. Everything I've heard about the knife is great and I'm sure I'll be happy with my purchase.

The silver twill glass fiber laminate scales look good and the texture affords real good non-slip grip. It's a robust (titanium liner lock) little knife with a very useable blade length of 2.5" and weighs a little over an ounce but cuts happily all month with the CPM-M4.

While I didn't mind the silver twill...

I like it better this way.

Hi David,

Most laminates are made from glass fiber, even G-10. Laminates can also be made with other materials or combinations of materials such as; carbon fiber, kevlar, spectre, etc. The fibers are woven and lamninated with resin under pressure and sometimes heat. Hope that helps.

Thanks Sal, I really like the looks of the Gayle Bradley Air. This will be my first wharncliff blade. I love all my spyderco's.

I really like the texture that the twill fibers give to the surface of the Air's scales. They are aggressive enough to give you grip (important on a small knife), but not so rugged that they tear up your pockets. Beautiful and functional. This is turning out to be one of my favorite Spydies of all time. Gayle is batting 1.000!
