i posted this in the cove as well. i`m currently drinking glenfiddich 15 year old, does anybody else like it? i also like johnnie walker gold label , but i`m trying some single malt ATM . i`m planning to try the glenfiddich 18 yr old when i can afford it, but i`m going to be paying for an FBM and a scrapyard hook soon , so booze is my second priority ATM :)

The only time I get a chance at this is when my rich buddy comes in from New Orleans and stocks my fridge. It is a tasty drink.....except I am still new to scotch (rather put the money to Infi). Poor bastid has put on about 60lbs eating out 5 nights a week and drinking himself into a stupor and passing out before he goes out to eat. Emeril's, Dragos, Chops Bistro....

I like Glenn 15 as well as 18. The Solaris Reserve is always good. There are alot of good scotches out there, just start buyin an tryin to learn what ya like.

I don't like the Glenfiddich very much. I prefer Glenmorangie. It just tastes better. I find the Glenfiddich to be too strong and bitter

My advice would be to try another 18 yo whisky

I do like my 18 yo Glenfiddich but there are better options for almost the same price or less.

Try Highland Park 18 yo if you like the smell and taste of chocolate and The Glenlivet 18 yo or Glenmorangie 18 yo if you like vanilla.

The Glenlivet 18 is cheaper than the 18 yo Glenfiddich here in the Netherlands. Glenmorangie 18 is more expensive. Highland Park 18yo should be more or less at the same pricepoint.

Cheers!!!

Maybe I'm not yet old enough to respect the fine nuances of a good liquor; I'm currently a beer man through and through. Hopefully I can still play in the trough. :D

The solra reserve is my favorite of the glenfidich line.

The Johnny walker line is good and the Gold is probably the best but they are blends and too me the single malts taste better. The johnny walker green is actually a mix of single malts and has only single malts in it with no other wiskeys. A typical blend has other grains in it than just Barley which is what scotch single malts are made of. So if you want to taste the only pure scotch malt Johnny Waler, get the green.

Try Balvenie Double Wood, mate. More complex and deeper than what you're drinking.

Absent that, might sip a little MacAllan (any age) to see what a really deep, sherried single malt is like.

Others have suggested a good Glenmorangie. It's a favorite of the native Scots, so you really should try it at some point.

Ah, the wild, wonderful world of single malt...

Haven't met a single malt I didn't like. They all have unique flavors to be enjoyed. Glenmorangie and Balvenie Double Wood are great and Laphroaig is excellent if you like the briny, peaty, smoky kind.

Don't own any Busse, can't afford them... yet.

But I got into scotch this year. I first bought a 12 years old Glenfiddich, then a Glenmorangie Port Wood. Glenmorangie is way over Glenfiddich.

Funny thing, I was in that Pub once and ordered a 12 yo. They came back and told me "We had no more 12 YO left, hope you don't mind if we give you a 18 YO at the same price?"

:D

If you ever have a chance to try a Bruichladdich, go for it :O

all good suggestions , i`ve seen a tinned bottle of bruichladdich over here 35 years old and $350 aussie dollars a bottle :)

so far this year i`ve been through 3 bottles of green label and 3 bottles of gold label johnnie walker
