In 1981, I bought a version of Glen Hornby's Model Five, a semi-drop point hunter, from Hornby at the Great Western Gun Show in Los Angeles County, at the Pomona fairgrounds.

It is stag handled, has a 4" blade, made of 154CM steel. It has a hand stitched, black, leather sheath with button snap retaining strap.

A picture of this specific knife I bought is featured on page 212, top of the page, in the 2nd Edition, "The Gun Digest Book Of Knives," by Jack Lewis and Roger Combs. The long article is entitled, "Profile- Glen Hornby." This Glen Hornby knife has been in my safe ever since, has never been used, and looks as it did the day I bought it.

Does anyone have any idea what this unused, "published" knife might be worth??

Many thanks. L.W.

LW,
You might want to email AG Russell about this. The late Glen Hornby made some nice knives. Excellent hunting knives and was a nice guy too.

His knives were always very moderately priced.....he always laughed at the guys who thought their knives were worth more than everyone elses. There is not much collector market for his knives but if you could send me a picture I might be interested. His wife was also buying his knives back for a while after his death. Tom

LW, email me a pic too if you can. There is collector interest in his knives by those into traditional knives, I am interested. Cant email you, no email listed.

Dave
