Quite a few years ago I purchased cheaply, a 3-dot (1977) Case 6380 whittler, in poor condition (the knife, not me!:D).
Very interesting handles, but sorely abused small blades, which were actually poorly fitted replacements!!??
Anyway, I have never seen another handled like this one.
In search of new blades, I found a delrin-handled Whittler of exactly the same model and year, only mint!
The pair sat for many years until I decided to send it to Glenn for a quick switch of blades - it probably was tougher than a quick switch.

An interesting Jade-like green with nice jigging, and proper 1977 blades installed!

But that's not all! Back home after an extended vacation, is this great Hammond & Co sportsman's knife. Three thick, it had worm-eaten Horn handles, but decent blades and springs, and the cigar pin and tweezers were still there, so. . . . . . .off to Glenn it went! Some nice Macassar Ebony, and Glenn's your Uncle!!

Nice work, Glenn!
Here is a document implying the company behind the knife!

Thanks Glenn!!

Fantastic stuff Charlie. I am definitely a fan of Glenn's work a true craftsman. He has done three for me and has four more to be done. After these are back I'm sending him some more only not in stag next time. I sure hope he doesn't get tired of working on my knives,

Fantastic knives and most of all the great talent of Glenn who brings treasures back to life.
Very interesting Case knife.

Mike

Love the older style whittler pattern. Are you leaving the delrin knife with the single clip blade? While obviously not as nice as the olive bone, the donor has great color.

What is the bottom "J" tool's purpose? Fantastic work as always, Glenn!! The jade Case is a gem:D

That is a boot hook! Took me a while to find out - it's for pulling on your riding boots. I guess it gives you better purchase on that loop at the back of the boot.

Charlie is way too kind, as usual, and gave me a lot of latitude (and time) to work with. The green bone Case was quite stunning, I can see why he wanted to make it whole again.

The Hammond was challenging and fun. I hope Charlie didn't mind me taking the shield in a different direction. For perspective, here's what the knife looked like before...

Very interesting and that sure would work great. Almost like a bale hook. Thank you!!

I'm happy to have an artist put his touches on a commission. Thanks Glenn!

Very unusual 6380 Charlie, you have another with unusual handles. One I thought about trying to trade for ,but I'm all in too far with those pruners.

Nice work Glenn.

Nice work again Glenn!! I can't wait to get my two knives that are in line back from him:)

Thanks friends for looking in and commenting!!

Those are both great knives Charlie :) Fantastic work Glenn

Just out of curiosity, why put the delrin blades into the bone handle, rather than putting the bone handle onto the delrin knife?

Well, Charlie asked for it that way. But beyond that, I would have done it that way also. It is much less dangerous to transplant 2 blades into an assembled knife than to completely dis-assemble a knife and re-assemble the whole thing back together. Also, the springs and liners may not fit exactly when swapping out to a different set of liners/covers. Much less difficult to just make 2 blades fit than trying to make all the guts fit a completely different knife.

Hope that makes sense.
