A few pics of this new folder with a cool opening/locking mechanism. Slide the ridged bolster up to unlock, rotate open with your thumb, slide the same bolster down to lock open. I am not sure about the handle material (think bowling ball material), also used for the backspacer, but I like the knife (locks securely, pointy and sharp). Blade steel: AUS 4, 55-57 HRC.

Well, I guess I like the looks, adn i guess I like the lock, but AUS 4? I think I'll pass.

Looks to me like a blade shaped for making punctures rather than making slices.
AUS4 would withstand impacts better than alloys known for edge retention.
I understand the design, and it is a pretty thing.
I just have no use for making punctures.

Can you take some pictures of the knife opening? I am curious to see how exactly it opens up. Looks like a cool knife. Thanks for the other photos btw.

does it lock closed? maybe good for NYC carry

Yes. It locks closed. There is no nail nick and the blade does not extend to get a grip on it. I stuck a pen tip under the tip of the knife and the blade won't open. You gotta push up the ribbed bolster to unlock it first.

It makes a heck of a letter opener, splinter getter, olive mangler and ....

I showed this around at the OKCA annual meeting today and makers loved it. Some could even open it without coaching. Some had heard of the Glide Lock already and were pleased to see it in production. My thanks go out to CRKT.

Yes I can. Dialup for me so give me a few minutes. I will try not to duplicate the pics above.

The mechanism is brilliant, intuitive in its operation (given a little practice) and satisfies my gadget lust.

Push up the bolster off the locking pin and rotate the blade out.

Once the blade is straight up, push down the bolster onto the locking pin.

2 more pics coming soon

Now that the blade is fully open you pull down the bolster, I use my right thumb, to cover the pin and the knife is locked open.

I hope this helps.

Oh. I saw the slightly more expensive, blacked blade, model of this same knife at the OKCA today and it looks sophisticated and subdued.

MY guess is the slot for lock opening and closed at each end and most likely a open center possibly with a guide track or just open enough to allow for the rotating of the blade to open without too much space to allow the movement to be sloppy...time will tell. Thanks for the pictures.....you cost me $44 !! Lol

Wow, thank you for the pictures. Very cool knife, though I am worries about the strength of the lock. Not like I shank people at all, though don't want to loose a finger either.

Got it today ( the shipping was s l o w ). It is a cool little knife but a bit small for my hands and a feeling of "cheapness" about it. Ok but at $44 (including shipping) it was not worth the dollars it costs.

Just realized the size of the knife. It is a lot smaller than I thought it'd be. Three inch handle? IDK, kind of small. Cool knife design in any case.

No offense, but why would the fact that the blade shape lends itself to puncturing take anything away from the slicing abilities of the supplied length of sharpened blade between the tip and bolsters?

Here's some more pictures...available several places on the bay for less than $35...

I got it on Ebay. Two dealers had it for the buy it now price and with the shipping prices they both came in at exactly $44 delievered. I spend well over $5,000 a year on knives, but this one is not worth the price. It maybe a $20 knife if you really like the design.....
