I just put this new (to me) little toy in my shop yesterday:

It is the new heaviest thing in my shop now.

I'm tickled pink.

So when you going to make a knife with it????????????

It would take me a while just figuring out how to turn it on. Jim

Nice Nathan; give us some specs on it. A Bridgeport I see.

Did something have to go to make room for it?

New machinery, ahhhhhhhh cool!

Jim,

It will be used to make knives, though that isn't what I got it for.

Fred,

I rearranged some stuff and managed to wedge it in there, though I could be convinced to part with one of my other CNC mills now. They're redundant and room is getting pretty tight.

It is 16x30 travels, 20 pocket ATC with 6 second tool change time, 10 real HP spindle, 6000 RPM max spindle speed (and it sounds good there) 600 IPM maximum cut feed, 50 gallon coolant reservoir, Fanuc control with very large digital AC servos, 8,800 pounds. Under 1000 hours on it. That's all the specs I can think of. Not high end cutting edge or anything, but quite respectable and functional.

Thanks for the specks. I'm no machinest , but those kind of numbers give me goosebumps.

Makes my old Bridgeport weep with envy, Fred

That is really cool, Nathan..........But do you really need all that to cut the slot in a guard?

Stacy

That is too cool. I'll swing by and pick up any old clunkers that you have laying around:D:D:D:D
