The field in which I work, which is software internationalization, is sometimes referred to as software globalization. One of the funniest things I heard once at a conference was someone mistaking globalization for global domination.
Anyway, here's an off topic to this off topic. My MacBook Pro was fixed this morning, on-site at Adobe. The wireless card, speakers, and two of the three USB ports stopped working over a week ago. At first, a faulty logic board was suspected. Upon replacing it, the problems persisted. They then determined that the I/O board was at fault. Well, it was replaced this morning, and I am back in business. The computer was working during this time, though I had to use an Ethernet cable and could not hear anything.
