These are pretty basic drugstore sunglasses at first glance. Fairly comfy, look decent, etc. However, they aren't called Hercules without a reason.
Global Vision claims that these survived several attempts to break them, including running them over with a forklift. They're not all that special aside from this, so that's what I wanted to test out. I started by wearing them for a year. Sat on them, through them in the center console who knows how many times, etc. It took a good 6 months before I started seeing scratches, at which point the scratch resistant coating was obviously wearing off. I then replaced them so I could try to actually break them.
To make a long story very short, I can't break these. They're bent into a 'V' shape and then I bent the arms back around again for good measure, and they went back into their normal shape just fine. 10 repetitions of this and various other shapes that should be impossible for glasses have stressed the plastic a bit, but I can still bend it back and make them fit the way they used to.
Basically they're the incredible hulk of walmart sunglasses. Oh, and they meet ANSI Z87.1-2003 standards, so they work as safety glasses too.
