On PBS they air what is probably one of the coolest travel shows ever produced. It's called 'Globetrekker' and it's produced by the same people that publish the Pilot series of travel guides. 'Globetrekker' is the only TV program I try to take the time out to regularly watch.

The show has several different hosts so they can film several different trips at a time, but they sent probably their best host, a Brit by the name of Ian Wright, to Nepal.

I saw a large chunk of the Nepal episode the other day (missed part of it unfortunately). The final segment was of some polygamous wedding ceremony in a remote mountain village where everyone, including the host, got decently drunk on the local hooch.

Ian Wright, I love that guy. His travelogues on the Travel Channel (back when I had cable) were hilarious. Talk about your dream job!

The Globetrekkers haven't been the same since Medowlark retired.

Bruise, you must be an old fart like me to remember Meadowlark Lemon.

I remember seeing your pic I think. You must've been 30 when he was playing. I was listening in the womb. :D ;)

Ooohh, he got me! Clutching my chest, staggering, and falling like a cowboy in a "b" western. :p
