Which ammo do you run through your .40 Glocks? I'm trying to compare prices for 9mm and .40 in decent brands, but I have no clue which brands are any good. I'm seeing a range from $11 to $30+, and I'm sure the cheap ones are garbage.

Glocks will run fine with most any ammo. What type of ammo use are you looking for - just range, practice or target ammo, or defensive ammo for personal protection?

range ammo - federal and winchester white box from Wally world seems to the best deal and runs great.

I run Remington golden sabers 165gr in my G23 .40

It will shoot pretty much anything though I have a bunch of Speer gold dots as well that work just as well.

Range ammo - PMC FMJ, Cabela's usually has 9mm between $9-$10 during their frequent sales.

For right now, probably just range use.

I just noticed I botched the title completely, I meant to say Glock 22/23 for the .40 models.

Is this the Federeal you're talking about?

EDIT: Don't think it is now that I look at it.

9mm is going to be about a third less expensive than .40 S&W. For range ammo, shoot whatever is least expensive that your range will allow (some indoor ranges won't allow ammo with steel and use a magnet to check the ammo). For good defensive ammo, pick one from this listing:

9mm
Barnes XPB 115gr HP (35515) loaded by Cor-Bon (DPX09115)
Winchester Partition Gold 124gr JHP (RA91P)
Winchester Ranger-T 124 gr +P JHP (RA9124TP)
Winchester Ranger-T 127gr JHP +P+ (RA9TA)
Winchester Ranger-T 147gr JHP (RA9T)
Winchester Bonded 147gr JHP (RA9B/Q4364)
Speer Gold Dot 124gr JHP +P (53617)
Speer Gold Dot 147gr JHP (53619)
Remington Golden Saber 147gr JHP (GS9MMC)
Federal Tactical 124gr JHP (LE9T1)
Federal Tactical 135gr JHP +P (LE9T5)
Federal HST 147gr JHP (P9HST2)

.40 S&W
Barnes all-copper bullets (140 & 155gr) loaded by: Cor-Bon (DPX40140)
Winchester Ranger 180gr JHP (RA40T)
Winchester Ranger 165gr JHP (RA40TA)
Winchester Partition Gold 165gr JHP (RA401P)
Winchester Bonded 180gr JHP (Q4355)
Speer Gold Dot 155gr JHP (53961)
Speer Gold Dot 180gr JHP (53962)
Federal Tactical 165gr JHP (LE40T3)
Federal Tactical 180gr JHP (LE40T1)
Federal HST 180gr JHP (P40HST1)
Remington Golden Saber 180 gr JHP (GS40SWB)

Isn't the link I provided a different "Federal" than was talked about? Based on my quick looking around it seems like Federal is the brand, whereas the link I posted has a brand of American Eagle.

That site looks cool, I'll check that out as well.

EDIT: Ok so now it looks like Federal is the brand, and American Eagle is the model or something? At the very least they don't appear to be the same as mentioned in that article.

American Eagle is Federal entry level ammo. UMC = Remington. WWB (USA) = Winchester.

Brass cased Wolf/Blazer/PMC/Fiocchi are pretty good range options.

I'll shoot whatever is cheapest out of my 22C. I've shot TulAmmo, Wolf, and Silver Bear all without issue. I've shot reloaded BVAC from Cheaper Than Dirt without issue. I've shot Aguilla, PMC, and Blazer all without issue. If you're shooting at paper then there is no reason to shoot anything espensive. Some of these shoot a little dirty, but I enjoy cleaning my guns so no issues there. The Glock is a work horse. It's not a firearm you have to handle with kid gloves. Buy pretty much whatever you want and get out there and shoot as much as possible.

On a side note, I recently bought a Lonewolf 9MM barrel for mine and I've been enjoying paying the cheaper price of the 9MM for target practice. I recommend it.
