Hi all. i am looking for a leather holster with a snap that secures the gun in the holster. I would like the holster to be kinda small but it MUST cover the trigger. I would like it to have a clip of some sort so i can carry it IWB when i so choose. I would like the holster to be slim so it would easily fit in a jeans/jacket pocket. I would also like to be able to re holster the gun when i wear it IWB without having to struggle against the now squashed holster (hard stiff leather maybe?) . Anything like this? I cant seem to find anything. There are allot of holsters out there.

Suggestions and opinions welcome

Thanks

no leather for IWB's bc in time they will get soaked with sweat and WILL stink. i can promise you that. also a G19 is too heavy for a clip on holster. it will need support and you can forget about putting a G19 in a coat pocket unless its a big ass coat pocket.

your best bet is to get a plastic IWB. Raven concealments offer a fantastic very low profile IWB for the G19

Check out Andrews Custom Leather in Florida for quality leather that won't break the bank. Usually a holster that "does all", won't do anything well, in my opinion. As stated, the G19 is a bit big for pocket carry, even the G26 is a bit of a stretch, IMO.

Sam Andrews in Alachua, Fla. builds good stuff if you must have leather... as stated by HungSolo if you live in a hot humid area (I'm on west coast of Fla) you probably want kydex and some form of flap between you and gun butt...I used a Sparks Summer Special for several years and added a leather protector flap...I changed to an off body carry for my G23, but use an Andrews wallet style holster for my 3AT... if you can live with an outside the belt rig, require quick on/off and need a secure rig, look at a Serpa retention with paddle....Fobus, BladeTech,Uncle Mike also have similar styles...even a good IWB rig is not for sissies (like me) in hot humid climate

as others have mentioned, i can't imagine any holster that houses a g19 that clips for pocket-carry as well as iwb.

i used to CC a g19 -- now i CC a g26 or compact 1911.

my recommendation is a galco "king-tuk" IWB holster or the crossbreed supertuck for IWB. both are similar to each other, comfortable, and have clips. neither of them have a "snap" that secures the gun, but the kydex will retain the weapon very well. and b/c it's kydex it'll be both fast to draw and re-holster w/o any deformation of the opening.

and honestly, when i CC my g26 i don't carry w/ a holster at all. i just use a "clipdraw" which is a clip that attaches to the weapon. it works great, is fast, small, retains to my pants, and is convenient. i do not carry w/ a round in the chamber.

good luck though! g19 is a great gun and reasonable to conceal if you dress the part.

Might as well buy one from milt sparks. Then you won't want another as bad.

I use galco or bianchi working, sparks off-duty.

Any particular reason why you feel you need the snap? Most good plastic/kydex holsters will retain the gun well enough for normal activity.

Another good brand to look into is SideArmor. I own a couple from them for G19 and G26 and they are excellent for IWB carry.

Do some research on the CompTac C-TAC. I've used one for years for multiple models, including my G19. Doesn't rock or shift, good retention, comfortable to sit in, bla bla...

SimplyRugged. Excellent leather holsters. The Cuda goes both ways, inside and outside.

The Comp-Tac CTAC has a predecessor called the Comp-Tac Minotar (or MTAC). IT uses leather against your body and kydex to hold the pistol. I have 2-3 of them and highly recommend them. The are well-priced, work great and don't have a long wait time.

Other brands to look at:
High Noon Holsters (good prices, good quality),
Milt Sparks (great quality, expensive, long wait time),
Rosen (good design, high quality, horse hide is especially well-regarded)
Blade-tech has good custom-made holsters
