Hi all. I am looking for a leather holster to open carry my Glock 19 in. I have looked at some Galco holsters at my local gun shop but none of them fit the bill. I really like the quality, fit and finish of the Galco products so if possible i would like to stick with Galco. Price isnt much of an issue but would like to keep it under $150.

I am looking for a belt carry holster with a snap that goes over the gun. I saw one like this but it sat ridiculously high up in my waist. Was not practical at all. I prefer to have it sit lower on my belt. Is there anything out there like this?

This holster would be perfect for me if it sat lower.

Looking more for low belt carry.

i use the galco quick slide, which sits about an inch lower than the one pictured.

it does not, however, have a retention strap.

I have the Galco Fletch for my G19---the reason they ride so high is to conceal it.

I looked at that one. I am not trying to conceal it though. The holster will be worn when i go shooting outside in my backyard at the range my grandfather has setup and i am just looking for a belt carry holster. Not a poke in the ribs high draw one. I dont have a concealed carry license either. I cannot obtain one either since I am not an American Citizen. Just something practical. Kind of like a belt carry knife, just a gun.

I find it hard to believe that companies dont offer more of this kind of thing. I mean back in the day with the cowboys, allot of the holsters where low riding ones.

I still fail to see how it is not practical. If you are going to practice drawing from it, I would suggest the high ride. However, why not look at some of Safariland's Duty Holsters?

I would check out Brigade gun leather. I was and still am very pleased. A little long of a wait, but worth it!

There are a lot of more "tactical" kydex versions that would fit your bill. I think most people who are buying leather are buying for CCW.

Offhand, I have a cheap 5.11 (made by Blade Tech that works fine). For my Sig I have a nicer one, a G CODE that I haven't had any issues with. The G CODE has lots of options for how it connects to your belt. It's pretty modular.

Sorry I can't help with leather. I do like my Milt Sparks. They are expensive and usually have a wait (sometimes Lightning Arms has them in stock so you don't have to wait). They have a nice rig, the CT - AT.

I've been shooting the practical games for 30 years, and unless you go with a reinforced top like a Milt Sparks, new shooters have a tendency to use their weak hand to help reholster, and in doing so tend to point the loud noise thingy at themselves... I would really suggest as have others that you go with a kydex rig... I mostly shoot 3gun and use a Serpa retention rig, but have several Blade Tecs as well as a fortune in Milt Sparks and Sam Andrews leather

Since there are platheora of website that provide GLOCK 19, finding the best one is always a costly and tiresome endevaour. Evan I have a Glock 19 and was searching for a great Hostlers for it. While browsing on the internet I found Solidgear that offer high quality IWB HOLSTER at a affordable price. You shold check once there.

Is there any particular reason that you want a leather holster? A kydex holster can be had for much less, even with retention. I tend to use Safariland ALS holsters, the Model 6378. You can change a belt mount for a paddle mount and adjust the angle of the holster to your preferences. They run about $30-40 and are offered for many many gun types.
