Hey guys. Me making yet another thread haha. Well I've been looking around at knives. Fixed blades and all. And we'll I came across the glock 78. I just wanted to know what you all thought of it. My friend happens to own one. He even offered to let me try ot out for a weekend. I looked up quite a few reviews o. It and seems pretty darn good. What category would you guys classify it in. And would it work for task such as Busch craft and survival? Thanks guys.

The saw couldn't cut cheddar, and the blade comes about as sharp as a remote control.

The blade is thick, but not very wide. The balance is wonky, and it's as good at chopping as a bicycle tire.

I gave mine to a friend who used it as a practice throwing knife until the blade snapped in half.

I'll say one good thing: It's cheap as a Chris Penn film.

Well cypress. Thanks for that rather funny review. I guess that's what you get from a knife that's $28 (with the acception of the moras haha).

Dang it, Cypress - dont sit on the fence:D

Being all wishywashy in regards to the Glock knife doesnt leave the OP with a clear impression of your opinion of the Austrian field knife.

But the saw was for roots. It's not made to saw wood. That's the only poi t we can give it from your review. I'm still gonna try it out over the weekend. Just so I can get the feel for it haha.

For the same price there are a ton of Condor knives that are freakin awesome for actual use.

there's actually a fake glock m78
which has no stamped markings.

It really isn't much of a knife. It is more of a sharpened pry bar with a really nice sheath. In that role, it excels. As an actual knife, it isn't the best, but it still quite useful.

I heard many good things about that knife. I bought it a few years ago and was not impressed at all! Sold it as soon as I could: hardly even used it! I would hardly consider it a knife: it is more a bayonet, which is a different story from my point of view.

Category: stabber.
Busch craft? Yes it can be used to stab a beer can.
Bushcraft? An Alox Vic Farmer will kick its behind six ways till Sunday.
Survival? Attached to the end of a large gun, it is an excellent survival tool.

:D

Hmm. Well I'm still gonna try it out over the weekend because some hate it. Some say its awesome if you re-profile the blade, or if you just sharpen it. Also it's an amazing throwing knife that won't break because it is made of spring steel.

I try to consider the source when someone tells me something about a knife or a gun.

I was told they were great, then I handled one. That's when I considered the source, I wouldn't own one.

Sharpen it and regrind the tip. Then use the snot out of it. It is a great beater, I used mine alot at work and loved it.

Its not a bayonet, as its not meant to go on a rifle.

Its a 'Feldmesser' i.e. field knife.

What is wrong with the source (Austria/Glock)?

(I'm not disputing your claim - merely asking).
