My friend recently aquired one of these knives and i like it quite a bit. It seems to be an all around sturdy knife with a good feel and was thinking of getting one since they're only $30. I was wondering if you could tell me the blade steel on this knife, how the knife holds up long term and any complaints you have about it. Thanks.

Soldier I knew who was with 5th Special Forces use to always take one everytime he went overseas on a deployment rather than his custom high dollar knives. Reason he said was that it performed all the jobs he asked of it and he could usually trade it to some local native blacksmith for a nice forged knife.

Hi,
the knife has a very good reputation here in Europe. Cheap, tolerates all kind of abuse, good for throwing as well.
It isn't exactly a slicer due to blade geometry. Edge holding is acceptable, easy to sharpen. Chops well.
Conclusion: Go get it.

Go get one. I disagree. Save the $30 and put it towards a knife, not something that was designed to be a bayonet.

I bought two of these when I first saw them a long time ago. I wanted to like them because I'm a Glcok fan but they just can't cut for beans.

Put your money towards a knife that can cut something! Try a Kabar USMC or a Camillus Becker knife.
