Don't hear to much about these knives. Any opinions regarding their construction, edge, durability etc?

Hello pcgood!

Well we hear very good things about these knives here in Europe. However forget about the saw. Easy to sharpen in the field, lightweight but tough and durable. Furthermore they are rather cheap in Europe (around 40 $)

They are not the greatest. They have attracted no attention here in the U.S. The might be ok for some uses, but....they are slow sellers. Most people that buy them own glock pistols and then for kicks buy a glock shovel and knife. They are rarely used would be my bet. Edges are thick and dont stay sharp for long from what I have been told. Your mileage may vary. I think their folding shovel is the better deal if you can find it on sale for 35-40 bucks.

They are cheap and I suppose of good value in terms of quality for price. I had the oppurtunity to handle several and passed them up because of their handle heavy balance (forget about chopping with THESE doggies), wide not-so-sharp-but-can-probably-take-a-whackin' edge, and their TERRIBLE fit and finish, the coatings are uneven and the specimens I handled actually had dusts and endtrails on their edges from being cut at the factory...

I guess if you got one that was relatively well coated and gave it a good sharpening workover and didn't expect it to chop very well it'd be a good knife, but it's just not my kind of thing.

Better than a screwdriver or a tent peg :) . Seriously, they're not too bad. I wouldn't pay more than $25 for one. I would much rather spend my money on one of the BK&T blades, or even one of the Ontario Spec Plus knives.

Just my thoughts,
Clay
