Glock knife and alternatives?

I know this is a common type of question, so I apologize in advance to anyone I annoy :). I can't find what I'm looking for in the forum archives.

I have a small ebay gift certificate to burn before it expires next week, and I'm looking a for cheap knife to guiltlessly play with and beat on. I want a super tough fixed blade that I can dig with or lash to a pole for a spear (doesn't necessarily need to be very sharp lol). I won't be using this as a serious piece of survival equipment. The most serious use it will see is just practicing survival skills in the yard. I have heard that the Glock field knife fits this bill. I have also thought about the SOG Fixation dagger or bowie knife. Any other ideas out there? I'm not looking to spend more than $35 or so on this, and cheaper is better. Also, before I get 20 suggestions for Mora, I already have 3 of those. Yes, they're great, but I'm looking for something different.

I know people knock SOG around here all the time but as far as their fixed blades go I have never had any issues. I think one would be a good choice for what you are planning to do with it.

That said I have heard good things about the abuse glock field knives are able to take. I have never personally owned one though.

I think that either one would work out fine for your intended purpose.

When I see the word "dig" I think of Cold Steel for some reason. How about a Bushman?

Probably because of their throwing shovels. True Flight Thrower is probably better than a Bushman, but the Bushman is indeed good for making a spear with.

The GI Tanto would be my recommendation, too.

It is as cheap as the Glock knife and has better edge geometry for cutting.
