GLOCK knives

My friend owns a glock feild knife and i've played with it a few times and it feels great. Not enough weight to chop with it but otherwise it is a great knife. It is also balanced for throwing which I think is why they leave the steel a little bit softer than most knives at around 55-56HRC if I recall correctly. Not sure of other knives glock makes but the Feild knife is definitely a solid knife and great for its price.

yeah ive seen it at the lowest around 28.99 new !!! what about the handle? whats it made from kraton???

I don't know, but it would make a great deal of sense if it were made of the same plastic they use in their handguns.

I've owned one of these for more than 13 years, in fact it was my first fixed blade, bought with pocket money when I was just 10 ;). OD version with a back saw. They now come in black and tan also, with or without the saw.

The knife is extremely lightweight and balanced for throwing. The blade profile is pretty unique, rather thick for it's size with a strong piercing tip, the saw seems well designed with a double stacking of teeths, although I have never used it.

The Sheath is what really makes this knife unique, It's molded out of a single piece of polymer (same as the handle, and indeed I'd guess it is the same as their guns). The unique locking system is tight and unlocks really fast, single handedly. The belt loop can be unbuckeled to put it easily on your belt and there is an eyelet on the back near the bottom of the sheath which can be used to hang it tip up to your gear.

My only concern would be the toughness of the knife if used for prying, I've heard recently that the butt of the handle is in fact removable, with a little force, to stash stuff inside the handle.

Strangely enough I've never noticed, nor tried it myself, but if true, I would guess the knife is at best a "half tang", that would explain it's extreme light weight.

Still, they remain in my opinion one of the best bang for the buck if you're looking for a military issue knife, especially if you need it light.

By the way, this is my first post, and I'm glad I joined such a great and knowledgeable community

Ive only used a GLOCK once (17) it wasnt wet so I cant say if the grip is slippery when wet--what im trying to say is one would think theyd use a rubber-esque material for the grip for slippage reasons(again cause i dont know how if the polymer becomes slippery when wet).

(aslo notces in the polymer are dont prevent it from being slippery, they are there to make spaces for your flesh to fill in, thus providing traction-- it doesnt mean its not slippery)

The handle on the glock knife is definetly not slippery when wet, it has a pretty coarse texture to it which gives a positive grip.
