Does anybody know if there is still Glocks available that have been rebuilt? A number of years ago, I wanted a 23 really bad, and found a Glock armorer who redid them, and they were pretty inexpensive. Any warnings about these? I don't know if they are widely available.

I have no idea about rebuilt, but I got a used Glock recently and it's behaved pretty well.

Glocks are extremely simple machines. As long as the frame is intact, there aren't any components that you can't replace yourself. No parts have to be fitted and replacements are readily available. Just find yourself the best deal you can on a used one and don't let anyone overcharge you for their vaunted "Glock armorer" expertise.

By the way, do you know how you get to be a Glock armorer? You take an eight-hour class at the Glock factory. Yup, one day and you're an expert.

Any truth to the rumor that you have to "burp" them when you replace the slide on the frame? ;) :D

There is a dealer near Pittsburgh that sells "reconditioned" glocks but the price is close to what you can buy new(at Police pricing).Looks like they do the upgrades and re-coat the slide.tom.

That's one of the reasons that I was considering this particular purchase. I like the easy takedown, and that they only have 4 or 5 parts (That i'll be concerned with)

there are glocks that are rebuild still around at some sports stores...i want an glock 18 darn it.....

CDNN usually has excellent specials on reconditioned firearms.

Check out their latest catalog on line. Pg. 44 has some used Glocks in several models and calibers. It's a 15MB download and you'll need Acrobat Reader because it's a PDF file. You can also order one of their catalogs through the mail.

Just skip the Glock and get a COLT:D . In all seriousness just make sure you really examine any used pistol (or new one for that matter) very well before you buy. If you don't know how/are unsure how to really examine one you should probably go with a certified pre-owned SIG. These come with some kind of warranty and are only sightly used, have been factory inspected, have all new springs and usually come with two barrels, a .40 and .357 SIG. I am not aware if Glock or any other company offers such a service.
