I just bought a Glock Knife and I was wondering if anyone else out there owns one

I have the plain one.......anyways it had a factory edge which isn't very sharp

Yup, I have one with the olive drab handle and no "root saw". I bought it from my local sporting goods store. I have beaten the sh&t out of it, thrown it (even managed to stick it a few times:cool: ), and worn most of the finish off of the blade, and the thing just keeps coming back for more! Two bad things about it though, are that the factory edge on it flat out sucks (I used a file to sharpen mine to shaving-sharp) and the tip isn't very pointy. I love the sheath though. Sorry if this has turned into a review:o ) Anyway I give it a 9 out of 10.

Sure, both if you must know.
Plain's better though, less maintenance without a sawback;
as it's made of plain carbon steel which rust pretty easily.
Only way to prevent rust build-up is to use it regularly!
Which is fine by me.
Don't mistake it for anything else but primarily as a combat fighting knife and you'll get along fine.

"Combat fighting knife?" Well, actually, yes, as it was originally designed as a bayonet. Glock just took the barrel ring off. Probably the best production knife for throwing due to the "soft" temper.

I had a sawback - worked just fine in IOBC many years ago, and the sheath would actually let you carry upside done on the suspenders when that was considered "the way." The thick, wedgy blade didn't cut as well as a good folder, though, and like most soldiers, I never needed that much blade, so I sold it.

One of the first things I noticed after receiving the knife and upon close examination was that the knife had a very blunt tip(rounded).And also the left side had a double ground edge while the right was a single grind!
