VERY tasteful. It somehow looks incredibly sharp. More than most 2-D images. Crazy.

Love the handle. You are really coming in and knocking them out of the park! (American 'baseball' phrase for high praise. ;))

I'm not sure which I am enjoying more, though: Esav's poetry or your visuals.

What a combo. :)

I like it. It has a very natural, warm, organic look and the lines are very pleasing overall.

I've actually been trying to get my hands on some bog oak myself but can't seem to find any for sale here in the US...

I love this little knife. The choice of bog oak for the handle was inspired and all the design elements come together beautifully. Very well done.

I like it. I'm not sure what bog oak is but it makes a good looking knife handle. I visited your web site and you make a very good looking knife. The web site is well done and worth the visit. I got a copy of your logo for CKCA collection. If you would private message me with your address, I will add it to the file. Thanks for posting.

Harry - bog oak is ancient oak that has been submerged for thousands of years in the bogs of northern europe (UK, Ireland, etc). Very cool stuff but not found locally here in the US.

Check out this link

It looks a bit like black wood but with a bigger grain and it looks very cool with that knife

Thanks Wulf! I hadn't had a chance to Google it yet. Good looking stuff. Might be kind of hard to come up with around here. Might be something similar in South Georgia but it would likely be bog pine.:D

thank you all for your posts-
it´s interesting, that you also like this different style!

@sharpbycoop,
You are really coming in and knocking them out of the park!
jim, it´s ME, who is happy not to be knocked out of this park!
so many world-class makers and collectors here- it´s an honour to me to show my work in this forum!

@hmathews,
thank you for your effort!

there is an alternative to bog oak with its numerous cracks and faults:

http://www.edelholzverkauf.de/product_info.php?cPath=108&products_id=3246

´smoked oak´ is chemicaly and thoroughly dyed,
looks like a perfect piece of bog-oak without the typical cracks.
I use it sometimes- no difference to bog-oak!
it is made for floor-planks.

for sure you´ll get it in the USA too.

best regards

gerhard

The perfect mixture of form and function. That knife looks like it will last forever! The more of your work I see, the more I'm amazed...

There really isn't anything I don't like about that knife/handle/sheath combination. It really speaks to me.

WOW! What a beautiful knife and sheath!

I'd never heard of Bog Oak before now. Sure is some great looking wood for a knife where the design calls for darker tones.
Excellent design and execution, weiland.:thumbup:

That Bog Oak looks a lot like Ziricote. Open cracks, dark streaks and all, but, the open cracks are not as pronounced as on the Bog Oak.:)
I have about 40 lbs. of it in the material's locker and it is really dark like the coloration of that Bog Oak.

Simple, elegant designs and materials really do appeal to the artistic dark side of me.:cool::D
