I started out looking for an Alias for all the u$ual reasons. Then I started talking myself into looking for a Sebenza. There are new, old and in between versions. I don't know if there are significant improvements in the evolution of the Sebenza or not. Can anyone put my feet on the path. I will buy it today, once I understand these differences. I'm just looking for a Ti handled, large.:confused::confused:

Regular has the wavy pattern at the bottom of the handle with a 'fuller' bladeprofile resembling more of a drop point blade for me. They are discontinued now. if you can pick one up do so quick! the classic is the original profile with cutout for framelock. 21 is the same as classic just the camphor is a bit bigger.

Seb 21 is the current new model, more comfortable version of the classic 2000 MM.
Available in large and small.

Regular and Classic models are discontinued, some may be still around.

Seb 21 is a great knife, some "old timers" might prefer the older models.

I have the opportunity to buy either a regular, large, plain edge, that has had the swedge sharpened, or a brand new, Large 21 for exactly the same price. I like the blade profile better on the Regular. I don't like that the previous owner sharpened the swedge. The 21 is new, and I'll be the one who dings it up. Opinions????

The Large Regular with factory swedge would be my pick. One of the best folders ever made. Just knock the edge off the swedge if it bothers you... could even have it tumbled.

I agree about preferring the Regular profile.

You can always get a 21 later.

The regulars are by far the best of the sebenza line up, its ashamed that is has been discontinued.

cadjak the first is always a special one to have:DChoose wisely my friend.Remember no mather what your choice is, sebbie's are made to cut.

Since I am getting a Sebenza, I figure I should get one that I like. As with most things, the price has gone up since yesterday. I now would be paying for a swedge bladed, regular, that is being sent to CRK to have the blade re sharped and generally spiffed up, for $310.00 I don't have a clue any more what the price has been on these discontinued knives. It seems like I am in the ballpark. Yes, No, Pass???

$310 is a very good price for a sebenza, even a used one never really goes below $300 (large sebenza that is).

If you had bought this knife directly from the shop back in May, when they went out of production, it would have cost $412.50 before shipping.

Now it's a collector's item. The finest knife CRK has produced, and one of the finest folders of all time. Just buy the damn thing and enjoy it. :-)

Airline ticket to my house is in the mail. When you arrive I can either meet you, or I'll pay for a car rental. Please wear extra heavy boots. When you come through the front door, I'll be guy huddled in the corner picking the petals off a daisy. Going, "buy it...Don't buy it...buy it...arghhh!" At that point please kick me in the butt as hard as possible. Maybe several times.

Personally...I like the 21 best of all I have had. AND...I like Plain or with a simple micarta inlay.

different strokes for different folks!

I read in a forum, not even sure it was this one. Somebody wrote, “I like the plain slabs, I want more titanium for my money". That’s a good point, but I just like plain all around, I also got a small regular, liked the handle shape better. To each his own.

21 vs regular, titanium vs inlays, small vs large. About the only thing us Sebenza fans agree on, is that the Sebenza is a great knife. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the variations.

I originally got a small classic with micarta scales, and figured it would be a special carry folder. Then, I needed a larger Seb, and got a classic micarta large. I chanced on a deal for a large cocobolo classic, which has sadly left the knife roll. Traded into a small regular and a small classic (sm classic just left the knife roll). Just got a large regular(the regulars have worked their way into my pocket for EDC). I'm looking for desert ironwood classics, and two different types of graphics, Native American and Dog Paws.

All I wanted was a nice little folder for dress carry. ;)

I've found that the more you know, the more you want.
