New-ish guy here and am still finding my way around this helpful forum.

Question: Is there a post somewhere offering a list of commonly used terms/phrases/jargon for newer folks like me?

Case in point:

A "user" knife ... a "used" knife? Right?

Thanks.

If there is, I've never seen it. Sounds useful. :)

I suspect a thread full of terminology questions would work out pretty well in General Knife Discussion, if you're so inclined. There might already be one; try a couple searches.

Re: "user," folks use that different ways but yes, it always means used. For some folks it means "used often/heavily," but for others -- who keep most of their knives in a safe, for example -- it might mean "used at all, even if only lightly." If I'm buying a used knife and the seller refers to it as a user, I assume it's seen regular use.

Many terms and abbreviations mean different things to different people. If it’s something specific to a situation/sale it’s best to ask for clarification between parties involved.

Id wouldn’t advise starting in the Busse forum.
