Anybody have any recommendations for winter gloves (don't need extreme weather, just for general wear, cold weather driving and walking the dogs). My preference is a kind that has "reasonable" dexterity, so I can do things like hook the dogs or fish my keys out of my pocket without having to take a glove off.

I generally wear those cheapie brown cotton work gloves you find at agway or tractor supply for a couple bucks because my hands are hard to fit. They are better than nothing but wear out fast, aren't warm or water resistant at all.

I need an xxl across the palm and wrist but then the fingers are like an inch too long! When I used to play golf they made gloves they called "cadet" style that were kind of made for this. I would be willing to use winter golf gloves but haven't seen any that aren't obviously golf gloves.

Wool gloves are nicely warm but, they need to be hand washed for care,
Leather gloves offer lots of dexterity, not much warmth, I would assume.

I have the same problem fat hands short fingers other than having some custom made ones I really don't know of any brand that makes large gloves with short fingers. If I get mediums the fingers fit better but they are too tight if I buy large or extra large there is too much room on the tips.

The custom cut gloves are expensive. If you can get the gloves inside out you could try clipping and sewing the fingers??
