I am looking for a good quality pair of warm weather gloves I can wear while camping and hiking. Does anyone else use gloves.? I find that if I dont wear gloves I get a lot of hand injuries from burns to cuts to nasty nailbed infections.

I have a pair of old rope rescue gloves that I mostly use when gathering wood, brush, branches, etc., for the camp fire. Otherwise, I usually don't wear gloves when camping. If we are car camping, I have a pair of fire gloves (turnout gloves) that I use when working around the fire and campsite.

Old Army issue double glove.
woolen liner and a chichable leather outer.
Good for just work and also good for keeping the hands warm.

Hiking with trekking poles in cold rain leaves my paws exposed. I use Mountain Hardwear Tempest gloves, which are made of a waterproof/breathable fabric and a light wicking lining. I think the current model is the Epic. The goal for me is to keep my hands dry and out of the wind, without being too warm and bulky. I have mittens for really cold weather.

Good outdoor sports gloves are made by Outdoor Research, Marmot, and Mountain Hardwear. There are dozens of models and they tend to be expensive compared to wrk gloves.

There are all kinds of synthetic mechanic's gloves and I've looked at several. I think they have all kinds of potential. I'm all ears for recommendations on good brands.

I've always like well fitted leather work gloves with a short gauntlet and no lining for heavy work like digging. Pefect for slapping oponents too :)

I saw a guy riding a bike in the rain one day and he was wearing dishwashing gloves. Looked silly as Hell, but his hands were warm and dry!

I wear bike gloves when hiking too. I have a condition called vitiligo, where the the melanin producing cells on the back of my hands have quit and I have large white spots that sunburn in a heatbeat. The bike gloves work great with trekking poles and leaves my fingertips free for chores. I do recommend fidning ones with as little padding as possible. They are washable and most bike gloves have a sweat patch that is great for mopping your forehead when it leaks :) I've been looking for a good full-fingered version too.

Cheap rubber latex dipped warehouse gloves. Tough and grippy and dont get slimy when wet like leather.
