The underwrap is white but glows so strong you can see it in this dimly lit photo.

More like a glowing pry bar, nice glow either way!

Thanks! Good eye, this is a chisel/prybar style. :D (thread title edited) It is the first in a line of knives I am making for hard use such as prying and stabbing metal.

I made it with super steep microbevels, while it is very sharp the main purpose on this one is to take lots of abuse. It has a big knocker end for hammering and a thick grind for maximum strength. There is lots of leverage in the design and a thick tip for prying, I tempered it more than usual so it will really take a beating and be easy to field sharpen.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/841067-All-kinds-of-chisel-grinds...-sneak-preview Here are some smaller ones inspired by this design. I was going to make them more basic and prybar like but with style added they are more fun!

Specs on this one:
.262 5160 Steel
10" long with roughly 5.5" of blade... Big!
White glow cord underwrap, black wrap, West System Epoxy soaked handle
Grapefruit Patina
Chisel grind

I'll try to post better photos soon, the lighting has been very bad lately.
