Glue for leather wrap?

Wondering what glue is best for doing a leather wrap of a handle.
Either leather over wood, or leather over cord wrap.
Brother is making a seax, and wants to do a leather wrap of the wood (possibly with jute wrap over the wood first).

That's easy enough to find.
If it works well, sounds like a plan.

I like "Leather Weld" by Eco-Flo. It is much cleaner and easier than contact cement. A damp cloth wipes away squeeze-out.
